Lately I've been feeling so unmotivated which is why I haven't posted in months. Thankfully Sean gave me just the encouragement I needed and there was something he said about blogging being something he did for himself as a recollection of his past, kinda like a diary. I used to think about it in the same way but the way technology changes who knows what will happen. I will more than likely look at these pictures in disgust in a year from now. On another note I've reminded myself of how fun it is to get dressed up and put together outfits.

When I was given the Mary Jane Manolo Blahniks I was flabbergasted by the idea of someone giving up a shoe that Carrie Bradshaw called an "urban shoe myth." They aren't really my style and they are extremely uncomfortable which is why they were given to me, but it's the sentiment they hold that gives them their worthiness of keeping. My friend Sean and I took pictures outside of my house while we struggled for some time trying to capture the perfect picture of him mid cartwheel. i'm excited to say that i will be moving in the hopes of living in a place for more than a year. in the last four years i have moved 5 times so, my purpose in life is to find a home. insert apartment in that statement. so, as excited as i am i haven't found a place yet but, i am excited in the prospect of being able to decorate a place of my own and am constantly on the lookout for decor ideas.

how fitting that black orpheus directed by marcel camus came on. first of all this is a great film set in 1959 brasil and the cinematography by jean bourgoin was gorgeous.

to make a short story shorter, i love everything about the vibrant colors on wood as well as the very simple yet cluttered arrangement. i am a very messy person, and i am attracted to clutter, which is why i find these rooms appealing.

here are some stills just to get an idea of the brilliance of the small village.

and so with that, i'm sorry anthropologie, your too expensive for me but i see the inspiration. hopefully i can incorporate some of the character, i really love it.

okay, i hate to be just another blog talking about another big movie but anyone who knows me knows how i feel about dicaprio and knows i argue his oscar is long over due but anyways this isn't about that. oscars i mean. this is about inception directed by none other than christopher nolan. now, kill me for saying that i am not a huge fan of hollywood since about the last 20 years but every now and then i can appreciate a well conceived film.

without giving too much away this movie is, at it's heart, about lucid dreaming. i draw similarities between this film and the film waking life by richard linklater because they both deal with similar ideas about the subconscious in the dream state. the dimensions between reality and the dream world are so fascinating because when you think about it.. as richard linklater puts it "Are we sleep-walking through our waking state or wake-walking through our dreams?"

i think this was a brilliant movie. it seems as though nolan is bringing the psychological to the big screen and making people think rather than just being passive. i mean, going from a conceptual thriller like memento which cost around $9 mil to make, a low budget indie, to inception, a $160 mil major blockbuster, is a big deal. and nolan managed to take its concept to big hollywood.

now i bring up waking life again because it was a smaller budget film and not too many people i know have seen it yet, it deals with very similar issues. minus the espionage. so i wonder, what does it take to make people think about ideas such as these.. a few car chases, a beautiful lead actress, 100 million dollars. maybe, but i think making the majority of people excited about the concept of a film is a start to a beautiful beginning.

So my studies in Florence have ended and even though I have yet to post some of the 5,000 combined photos from Tina and I during the trip, I will be moving on to post about Paris until then. Why, you might ask. Well, because Paris is probably the most beautiful city I have ever seen and so far I am having an incredible time here. I basically would like to just say fuck it and stay here forever but believe it or not I would probably die from starvation because I wouldn't have a job to buy food or a place to live but hey, whatevs' suck it up right.

Anyways, last night Jessica and I went to a local parisian bar and got the chance to see an amazing band perform called The Grass Widows. While the acoustics in the room weren't very flattering to their vocals nonetheless it was really a good performance.

In the process of looking up the name of the band from last night, I came across another show we had just missed that performed right before called Collapsing Opposites. Listening to thier music, I wish we had arrived 20 minutes earlier.

I should really start wearing makeup again, I just feel lazy to put it on especially when my day mainly consists of running errands. I should also figure out what hair products to put in my hair when I wear it curly because it looks like a frizzy mess. Nonetheless I found these Giorgio Armani sunglasses hidden in a Ray-Ban case in the garage at my parents house one day and I fell in love with them. I love the round shape and the tortoiseshell color, I just received my Ray-Ban Rx glasses in the mail which are a similar color and have an eye appointment tomorrow so I am excited about that. I am also excited that it is officially summer.

although i am on a budget while i am here studying in italy, i refuse to let my self suffer from a diet of nothing. so my roommates and i have devised a plan to scope out cheap and affordable yet delectable foods and although i am pescatarian, there are still tons of great meals that i am able to enjoy. the image above was taken at the mercado central where there is a wide variety of fresh fruits, wines, and meats.

this meal i got at merbone in the same mercado central located fairly close to the place we are staying. it is a medley of potatoes, zucchini, green beans and drizzled with olive oil. it was a light and amazing lunch and it only cost 4 euros.

i still have plenty of time to try more dishes and can't wait for the experience.

so i arrived in florence a few days ago and i am completely in awe at the beauty of the city. since i am attending an art course here, i have to walk to class and to specific sites so i get to see the amazing architecture and culture first hand. so far i have been to the the uffizi gallery as well as bargello national museum some of my favorite pieces being gentileschi's thus far.

as well as amazing art the clothing attire here is exquisite. it feels almost as if being chic is something passed down generationally and is just a part of everyday life. i will post more images later since i am too lazy to write a journal, i am keeping a photojournal and hopefully gain the confidence to ask to photograph some of the local residents.

as much as i really wanted to understand this film, i ultimately had no deep understanding of what the hell was going on. especially since i am writing this post a couple weeks after i saw the film, its hard to recall the specifics. because the film is about existentialism, you really have to be keen on it's underlaying philosophy to truly grasp what is going on in the film.

nonetheless i really enjoyed it because it made me curious and intrigued to understand more. the concepts i managed to fit together gave me that feeling of when you have a sort of minor epiphany. very interesting.

i am looking for the perfect dress. thee perfect dress and, in my seemingly ever important search to find the absolute perfect dress for no particular occasion i have come across designer calla haynes whose designs are fabulous. I am also visually intrigued by her use of texture and color.

what i love about the first dress is how it appears to fit. and since i truly believe i am too young, and broke to have my garments tailored i will still be on the pursuit for that perfect dress.

I only stayed a few hours but it was a very california fashion forward party at space 15 twenty and the band The Like performed, I love their style! lets just say, during the 90's i wasn't exactly into politics; for one thing i was under 11. but now that i am older i can understand some of the issues that were prevalent during that era.

last night i watched you don't know jack, the story of jack kevorkian. i found it to be a really interesting film profiling some of the patients and trials dr. kevorkian dealt with prior to serving his 8 1/2 years in prison for euthanasia. those of which i really had no idea about until i watched this film.

weather you agree with him or not, you should watch this film to get a better understanding of who he was and some of the methodology behind such an issue. i feel it is better to understand issues such as these than try to shut them out from your mind and act as though they dont exist, when in reality they do.

I feel like I haven't posted in ages, my life just got a tab bit busier since I've been interning for Melissa Coker at Wren. I adore interning for her and even more so I love love love her pieces they are amazing. These Wren summer dresses would be quintessential for any warm weather activity and they're super cute. I can't wait for the weather to get really warm so I can walk around bare legs although I will miss my collection of leg wear, for some reason I'm always freezing if the weather isn't at least 78 degrees.

lately i have been listening to a lot of live music. im not sure why, but i tend to get into things obsessively until i have drained all the intrest from it. La Blogotheque is probably my favorite site right now for just that. scowering youtube for good live footage isn't always the best quality but this site takes bands right after shows, or just on a whim and creates take away shows in the middle of the streets. i couldnt imagine anything greater. sitting in a bar and all of a sudden beirut shows up and Zach Condon is playing live right in front of your table.

haze dir. pete schuermann was truly eye opening. i don't know if it because i'm older now or a college student or both, but i really recommend you watch this film. it is centered around a student by the name of Lynn Gordon Bailey Jr. who passed away due to alcohol poisoning at his fraternity. the film deals with many different issues of binge drinking on college campuses.

i know this is an intense issue, and film, but i think the reason people are so quick to dismiss some of these issues for discourse is because of just that. I really encourage you all to take a look at this film when you get some free time. you can find it on hulu.com and watch it for free.

entre les murs dir. Laurent Cantet is an amazing film. It profiles a particular group of students as well as their teacher during one school year. I felt that this was a powerful film because it depicted the life of the students as they're seen by the outside world. We see what the teachers and education system see, no knowledge of the home life or other factors that play into adolescence life. We see how the classroom becomes a haven for the students to speak their minds and embrace their emotions. Although the film appeared slow, it gave way to analyzing and processing the setting in a detailed manner. I enjoyed it and I highly recommend seeing it if you haven't already. Watch the trailer here. btw, the actors were extremely excellent as well. Okay, time to study. I hope april ends quicker than it came.

I cant really summarize what this film is about. narratively, Its not really about anything, but contextually its about so many things at the same time. You have to see it for yourself and make your own analysis because I think this is one of those films that everyone has a different reaction towards.

Although I have yet to see Mister Lonely and Julien Donkey-Boy I can already say that I am a fan of Korine. I love the way he just lets his characters be and the cinematography is excellent. Although the film is scripted, a large portion is what appears to be just the characters being in their environment.

To me, this film appeared more documentarial (I dont know if thats a word but it fits.) because most of the subjects are not actors, and I really appreciate that. The moments when the characters look at the camera for that slight second and you understand, that they understand, they are being watched. I love that, I think thats simply phenomenal.

ps, is it bad I am starting to post during CHEM315 and zone out the vital information of biological macromolecules?
um clearly, I think not.

I would have to say that my relationship with DJ Leigh Lezark is a love/hate one. Every time I see her I am in awe of her striking appearance. Im back from the east coast and I miss the snow. Every chance I got I was stepping in it, I like the crunch sound it makes under your shoes. It was so beautiful and I wish it snowed in California. Driving from D.C to Maryland and riding the train from D.C to New York was a delightful visual stimulation for me, miles of landscapes blanketed in snow. It was amazing to see the houses and the places where snow managed to find its way, hugging the tops of bushes and melting from the roof tops. Although I couldn't imagine constantly having to drive around mounds of snow piles in the streets and parking lots, it was like a maze. I really enjoyed being able to for a short time experience a real winter and Im proud of the fact that I wasn't being a weenie Californian shivering in my boots (literally).

Last night I went to go see Shutter Island dir. Martin Scorsese. After long hours of contemplation wondering how I could do a post that wasn't similar to the billions of posts out there about Shutter Island, I realized I would just explain how this is another great Scorsese film that confirms why I want to be in filmmaking.

I think the film that really did it for me was Raging Bull. The first time I saw that film I think I fell in love with cinematography.

To me, Scorsese films are completely engaging. I mean I have seen a lot of films, many of which were awe dropping, amazing, etc. but every time I see a Scorsese film, I just become inspired. Satisfied if you will. There is something about the detailed, craft of it. Like your watching Da Vinci paint a painting. I know I sound crazy but to me, living in a time where Scorsese is still producing work, where I am alive to witness it is simply amazing and I want to embrace it.

Okay, I had to add that although the content of his films can be at times, objectionable, I still believe the films as an art are remarkable and although this post does not do his work justice, you get the idea.

Les Quatre Cents Coups Dir. François Truffaut
This is the first film I have seen of François Truffaut (the first of many to come). Not only was the setting beautiful, the social context of the film was equally intriguing. To be an adolescence in any time period is challenging, but add a dysfunctional family and you have Antoine Doinel. Because we are so closely attached to Antoine, we understand that there are issues deeper than his vandalism of poetry on the wall, but that his rebellious behavior stems from the same people who suggest to send him away.

For one of my production classes, we were required to develop a ripomatic using images that help convey an emotion or scene we are trying to emulate for our final project. I used some images found from Creative Commons search engine and the rest are still frames shot from my XSI from live feed resulting in rush footage (the images of Bre Renne). I really wish I was at NYFW. I would love to have my own collection of images instead of "borrow" them off the internet. I am aware that my pictures aren't great, but I take them myself using the timer on my not so professional camera. However, yesterday it was raining like I have never seen before in southern california and it threw me off guard. Then today we were back to normal, sunshine and all. I was supposed to leave in the morning to the east coast but because of the blizzards they're having my mom rescheduled the trip for next wednesday. I was looking forward to actually being in snow seeing as how snow is really a foreign substance to me. I can only recall maybe one time seeing snow and it was just sprinkling. So hopefully the grounds are still white when we fly into D.C. and venture all over the east from Maryland to NY.

"If people die the moment that they graduate, then surely it's the things we do beforehand that count."Sometimes I am conflicted with the way society brings us up. Its always, plan for the future, and then keep planning. Never, live your life in that moment. Because, at some point or another, you might not be able to anymore. Carey Mulligan's character does a great job expressing the way a lot of students feel, as I can say from personal experience. This movie is truly amazing and is nominated for Best Picture as well as Best Actress. If you havent seen it I highly recommend you do. Great song by Beth Rowley is featured in there as well.

Last night we attended the Paper Mag and Converse We Love Art event, we had a thrilled filled time and got to draw and custom make our own canvas bags (hence the out of place bags we are all carrying). I really love this single cover for Dirty Diana not only because it's one of my favorite songs but because of these boots! These boots are amazing and very contemporary yet vintage at the same time. They're like a cowboy gone bad and they remind me of the studded Chloé boots. Eagle vs Shark dir. Taika Waititi

If your a fan of Flight, your a fan of this movie. If you dont know what Flight is, then forget it. This film is basically two really awkward people who develop a weird relationship with each other. However, the simpleness of the two individuals is what makes the film so pleasant to watch. I thought it was great, but then again im pretty awkward myself. XD

One thing I dont think is as debateable is the soundtrack composed by The Phoenix Foundation a group out of New Zealand. I thought the OST was great no matter what you thought of the film.

This is what I wore today to run a few errands. I thought upon returning from the Bay Area the weather in So.Cal would be a bit cooler, but unsurprisingly it wasn't. In fact it's been very warm. I guess my dream of wearing wonderful winter clothes will only be short lived during my time up north, oh how I loved being able to wear multiple layers of clothing again. Oh and school has started again, which has made me realize I don't like quarter systems because of the short winter breaks that come with them.

I cut my bangs yet again. I have some weird obsession with constantly changing the way my hair looks, either through cutting, dying or styling I just hate looking the same all the time. The look I was going for was Lisa Mayock meets Bettie Page. It didn't come out exactly the same but it's close enough considering I did it myself with all nervousness. I've always wanted the short pin-up looking bangs, but never had the courage to do it until now. They would probably look much nicer if they were thicker but I don't want to go through the torture of growing them out and having to walk around looking like Peggy Bundy.

I seriously believe Charlyne Yi and I were ment to be friends. That girl just seems so chill and down to earth, not to mention is completely down with being herself.

Paper Heart (dir. Nicholas Jasenovec) seems to me, a perfect realistic view on "Love" in the 21st century; no bullshit. Part documentary part fiction, you dont know where the the reality and the fabrications cross paths, in other words Love.

Although I believe co-star Michael Cera helped give that film the extra push it needed, it was a great movie overall.

Please stop teasing me. From the moment I saw these Minimarket SS'10 wedge booties it was love and not just regular love (if that exist), but meant to be together love at first sight kinda love. These shoes are perfect, I am already plotting ways to get my hands on them. I want both but thats only a dream. I love the mixture of different textures, suede, leather and wood. The color block AND they're wedge booties! It is as though they were designed especially for me, seriously. They make my heart smile.

This is the look I put together for an American Apparel/LOOKBOOK.nu contest. So everything I'm wearing is AA except for my shoes. This looks really cute with a cardigan thrown over it too. I need more skirts, especially structured ones. It's getting colder in southern california, but not cold enough. Lost & Found Art Show

This is the video installation piece that Amanda Bard and I did for our final project. We had an exhibit where all the students could produce a piece of any medium to show at the end of the semester. Our piece was titled "you are free and that is why you are lost." We wanted to create a space where people walked in and experienced this sense of abandonment. The images are of us wondering through Elfin Forest, walking in an abandoned house, and images of an old abandoned house. We put gravel on the floor and a dead tree with no leaves. There was also audio with quotes to help guide the viewer. It was subjective, however the images and audio were there to guide the viewer into their own mind and how even though we have endless possibilties, at times this can be so overwhelming that we end up feeling lost.

Nicole Gonzaga's piece was amazing. She hung up dozens of ballons and hung them from the track lights on the ceiling. She projected home movie images on to them with the music of Claire de Lune and the result was really beautiful. It was great because after all our hard work and hours of setting up, we went crazy popping them all at the end of the night. A great stress reliever if you ask me.

This is Nancy DiBenedetto's work. She is a trained photographer for the US Navy so she gets to work with some amazing people and produce great images. Here is one she did for the exhibit examining the multiethnic cultures in America. Her work was really pleasing to view.

I didnt get a chance to take a picture of Julian Giron's piece. It was a watercolor painting with amazing colors and beautiful strokes. I really wish I had a picture to put on here but congrats to all the students it was a successful night. We will be producing a video documenting the night and I will be sure to put it up when we finish it.

I don't know why this is one of my favorite shirts, I guess its due to the fact that it's black and white and has cut off sleeves. I'm not big on overly excessive labels on clothes, which is why I don't know why I like this shirt so much but I always wear this consignment Armani Exchange shirt. Oh and I actually wore blue denim jeans for the first time in what seems like forever, but don't count on seeing me in them often or ever (I've disowned jean pants for a while).

Finally, the time has come when I get to sit and relax at home with the family. It has been a while since I have been home and it is a long overdue visit. As I was rummaging through my things, as I always do for some reason when I am home, I came across these awesome Polaroids my mom had taken from around the early 1960's. As you probably already know, I absolutely love film photography.

The fact that these pictures are over 4 decades old, makes them even more beautiful. Yellow edges, high exposure, and the simple curiosity you get from them being out of focus wondering what was going on during this time and era.

My winter break to do list consists of watching every movie that received a Palme d'Or. I think it will be an interesting challenge for myself and keep me entertained through winter. On the list for the 1989 Palme d'Or was Sex, Lies, and Videotape directed by Steven Soderbergh. Oddly enough, I wasn't sure how I was going to react to this movie. But slowly as I watched it I found myself emerged in the characters and how each one possessed some sort of awkward personality that conflicted with each other, bueno.

ps. Laura San Giacomo has some nice late 80's attire. Acid wash cut off shorts with the vintage boyfriend shirt shouts anti-suburbia conformity.

[vintage fur, Urban Outfitters shirt dress, extremely old knitted gap sweater, target tights, Stuart Weitzman booties]
I found this vintage fur at a shop on Melrose and the first time I saw it I didn't buy it, but it never left my mind after that day so I went ahead and took it home and I'm glad I did. Usually if I can't get a particular piece out of my head which happens a lot, it's best that I go ahead and buy it because I'll beat myself up for not buying it later. I love the way it feels and a fur collar or scarf can make a look so glamorous. The boots I spotted at Nordstrom Rack a while back with my mom and she bought them because they were on sale at a really good price. She knew I loved them and surprisingly she decided to give them to me. They're simple yet powerful and I love the patent leather, something that is certainly missing from my wardrobe. Did I also mention I'm crazy about lipstick due to the fact that my lips are so...I like to say voluptuous. I love this Revlon wine color that I picked up at the drug store and I was shocked to see they had a matte line because I love mattes. I wanted to go with a MAC color as I usually do, but this one is nice because it's not as strong as most dark lip colors, so I can get away with it more during the day.

Okay, so im really into this whole pale eyebrow look. I guess its because my eyebrows are practically non existent unless I use an eyebrow pencil and viola.. magic. Ranya Mordanova is one model who I think rocks this look really well. Her blunt cuts helps a lot to define her bone structure so the pale eye brows give way to the more dramatic elements of her face.

Please dont get this confused with me liking the infamous SS2010 yellow eyebrows in shows like Prada, Nina Ricci, and Givenchy. Cause those look a little scary, I'm not going to lie.

The Barnes and Noble Nook has got to be the most awesome reader since the original Kindle was released in 2007. Although the Nook lacks in browser, word doc, and PDF capabilities, it amazes in touch, 3G Wi-Fi, and color display also, allows you to borrow and share books through eBooks.. sigh.

So Scott's book signing was amazing and I am also amazed that I actually made it there in time rushing from school and only having about 20 min. to get ready. Scott is very charming and he told me I was beautiful, I'll probably bring that up over and over again for years to come only because that is the most meaningful compliment I have received. The people there were very interesting as well and I must say I really enjoyed myself for the wonderful 30 min. that I was there for.

I dont know where to start.

Ill just start from the beginning.

So, when I found out Scott Schuman was going to be in LA for a book signing hosted by Traffic and LA Magazine, I almost passed out. And although Im currently living in San Diego, LA is a lot closer then New York. ha. So you know me, had to make some calls, and then I was off on my two hour journey. I got there painfully early, I honestly imagined tents and sleeping bags but little to my surprise I was one of the few (3) people there that had imagined the same thing. But, I have to say it was beyond awesome, extravagant, and a breath of fresh air to know that there were people of similar interests around, outside of San Diego.

Then, I saw him, sitting down in his perfectly tailored suit with his reading glasses on comfortably positioned at a circular dimly lit table, as if I was going to get my prophecy read to me by the zen master of fashion. But, as reality set in I moved forward and got my book signed. Scott was really nice since I was to nervous to speak he asked me what I did and this and that. Being numero two in line, I got to hang out early and eat amazing miniature cupcakes after the fantasy settled. Bre was taking forever, coming from a class, so it gave me a chance to schmooze while I waited. Wow, I cant believe thats a word. I met my pal Zac Zupancic who was very well dressed the part. We hung around and as we waited for Bre, we took pictures with the various amazings among the crowd.

Although I was a little disappointed I didn't get to meet Garance, I would have to say this night was extremely successful. In 20 years, when I have kids, I know passing down my dusted personal copy of The Sartorialist to them will be an amazing part of my generation for us to share.

The other day, the Art Association at my school hosted its first student art exhibit titled Art Show that I myself got to be apart of. Surprisingly, it was a great turn out. I say surprisingly because I attend a school that is primarily business majors with the arts being the lowest of all of the majors. We, the AA, set up, hung, printed labels, gathered the food, and cued the music. I thought it was a great experience and I cant wait to participate in the next one.

Fall weather in southern california is something that I take appreciation for and the LA weather played an evil game with me this week and put me under the impression that fall had actually come. It rained for almost two whole days and then unsurprisingly today the sun came back to heat the ground we walk on. It was nice while it lasted, I got to wear a jacket for once and not look ridiculous wearing boots and tights in a place that doesn't have seasons. The fall season is my favorite time to dress and I'm beginning to think it's due to the fact that I have come so accustom to the year round summer weather here, I used to look forward to warmer days in the bay area.
Say hi to my real life pokemon Mikko, although a lot of people mention that he resembles either an ewok or the dragon from The Never Ending Story (I agree).

There is something about Erin Wasson's style that I absolutely love. Its the fact that she can make a simple baggy tshirt and boy friend jeans look extremely sexy and intimidating at the same time. I think I am so attracted to Erin's style because it embodies everything I love about being a tomboy, if you can even call it that. I mean, does it remind me of my tomboy days because it looks like she doesn't care or because the clothes appear one to sizes to big?

That fact that it can be causal, and sexy at the same time is ultimately the best part about her looks. So ladies, revert back to fifth grade when you weren't afraid to throw on your favorite baggy T and you might end up looking like this, beautiful.

Going to the video store these days is like going to the bookstore to buy a novel. When you don't know what you want, its a hell zone.

Luckily, when I do see a movie I want to rent, I write it down so issues like this are minimal. So, tonights movie of choice, after some extensive research and no Shadow of a Doubt available, was L'enfant directed by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne.

This is the story of a couple who just had a baby. The boyfriend however, decides it would be better just to sell the baby and make a quick dollar, or euro in this case, then keep it. I thought the movie was really good. It was striking how easily this guy could do the things he did just to make some money. Its a bit slow, but deep and intriguing. I don't recommend it if you have a big group of friends over or arent in the mood to be deeply moved. But if you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy a good movie, this is for you.

[Alice + Olivia Madison boot]

I "altered" this dress weeks ago. I like to say "altered" when I reconstruct, add details, remove details or things of that nature to a piece, because essentially I am altering it's appearance. I found this dress in TJ-Maxx, its a Nine West dress that when I purchased was much longer and with out bleach stains. It was one of those things you see and immediately gain a vision of how you feel it really should look. Before I purchased it I already knew what I wanted to do with it, so I cut the bottom to shorten the length and began the bleaching process. I prefer the stains on the bottom back of the dress, but otherwise I am satisfied with the outcome.

A few days ago Franky and I were glancing at the shoe section in Nordstrom and our mouths immediately dropped upon seeing these Lanvin booties (the pair on the right). The metal heel gives them edge yet they're very elegant. Then my eyes were distracted by something else amazing next to them (the ones on the left), these patent leather beauties are amazing. The color of the leather gives them that chameleon look and the structure of the heel is perfection. I like to call these bootie beauties, because that is exactly what they are beautiful booties.

I am always arguing with myself about which is a better medium. Digital or film. Personally, I love the look of film and the play on the realistic images it captures with distorted color or quality that often comes naturally within the film processing itself.

As my photo book collection is starts to grow, I would love to add Alexander Gnädinger's 100 Girls on Polaroid to my bookshelf. I feel it embodies the notion that even though the digital medium is here to stay, film can be and still is beautiful.

Now it isnt, actually. Just yet anyways, a few clouds in the sky, maybe. The one thing I semi, SEMI, take for granted is not having the cold weather. Being in California doesn't allow for proper layering techniques because well, lets face it, its about 75 degrees everyday of the year and you would just look like a fool wearing a jacket. But if i do say so, this jacket is beyond killer. I would wear this in the San Diego heat any day. I could see it now, the bold patterns and bright colors would distract passerby's from noticing that I'm actually breaking a sweat.

Also, please make a note Open Ceremony. I am a college student with minimum wage to my name so please, forever, make me a knock off.

One more thing, Chloë, if you allow this blazer to become accessible in anyway to me for this fall, I promise to finish watching Big Love and prepare for season 4. Thank you.

I finally got to watch the infamous Slacker, yes thank you hulu, directed and written by Richard Linklater. What I liked about this film other than the hilarious "madonna pap smear" girl and the mentally disturbed traumatized lady was the play on perspective and the shifting of the characters. I really enjoyed how Linklater never stayed on one character for longer than a few minutes and the shifting of the camera following a new character kept the film visually interesting.

Also, I really liked this girls outfit. It caught me right away as a comfortable, end of summer, lazy day outfit. The floral print with the cross body bag.. seems so 2009 right, UO would sell this, right? but the cool thing is this was 1991. Whoop.
