Time Equals Zero.

So my studies in Florence have ended and even though I have yet to post some of the 5,000 combined photos from Tina and I during the trip, I will be moving on to post about Paris until then. Why, you might ask. Well, because Paris is probably the most beautiful city I have ever seen and so far I am having an incredible time here. I basically would like to just say fuck it and stay here forever but believe it or not I would probably die from starvation because I wouldn't have a job to buy food or a place to live but hey, whatevs' suck it up right.

Anyways, last night Jessica and I went to a local parisian bar and got the chance to see an amazing band perform called The Grass Widows. While the acoustics in the room weren't very flattering to their vocals nonetheless it was really a good performance.

In the process of looking up the name of the band from last night, I came across another show we had just missed that performed right before called Collapsing Opposites. Listening to thier music, I wish we had arrived 20 minutes earlier.

Check it out.

sing it, loud and proud.

lately i have been listening to a lot of live music. im not sure why, but i tend to get into things obsessively until i have drained all the intrest from it. La Blogotheque is probably my favorite site right now for just that. scowering youtube for good live footage isn't always the best quality but this site takes bands right after shows, or just on a whim and creates take away shows in the middle of the streets. i couldnt imagine anything greater. sitting in a bar and all of a sudden beirut shows up and Zach Condon is playing live right in front of your table.

here are a couple of my favorite bands contributing to the art of truly amazing live music. you can find La Blogotheque

I see pretty.

One of my favorite directors Michel Gondry directed Mia Doi Todd's latest music video Open Your Heart. I think he should be knighted, Sir Michel Gondry is more fitting.

your foolish, sucka.

Eagle vs Shark dir. Taika Waititi

If your a fan of
Flight, your a fan of this movie. If you dont know what Flight is, then forget it. This film is basically two really awkward people who develop a weird relationship with each other. However, the simpleness of the two individuals is what makes the film so pleasant to watch. I thought it was great, but then again im pretty awkward myself. XD

One thing I dont think is as debateable is the soundtrack composed by
The Phoenix Foundation a group out of New Zealand. I thought the OST was great no matter what you thought of the film.

I've been in a very French mood lately, and I'm desperate to visit Paris. So who better embodies everything beautiful and French than Brigitte Bardot, she truly is a bombshell. I think she looks like Lara Stone or rather Lara Stone looks like her. Who isn't a sucker for a french girl singing anyway?

there's no rest for the wicked.

So I know I am late on this people, but my music obsession right now (other then my other 4 years late discovery of Guero and how amazing that album is) is Cage the Elephant. There is something about Matt Schultz vocals that has me oddly intrigued. Since I am currently on my 90's alternative kick (OK Computer), there is something about this band that reminds me of just that. Awesome album, check it out here.

My halloween costume visions come to reality on Agyness Deyn in the September '09 issue of Bazaar. Everything about Michael Jackson makes my heart skip and I hope one day to find a potential male suitor that has his style and grace. Live forever the king.
